Harbinger Moon Communications exists as a catalyst for systemic change—braiding storytelling, strategy, and digital media to illuminate a more just and equitable future. We empower people to tap into their intuition, reclaim their narratives, and heal as a collective.
Our mission is to amplify lived experience and shed light on existing inequities through diverse, inclusive communication strategies, creative digital media, and accessible resources that support education, healing, and action.
Founded by Nancy Cairns, Harbinger Moon began as a personal blog—rooted in reflection, resilience, and knowledge-sharing. It has since evolved into a dynamic communications hub, driving the discourse and actions essential for building a fairer, more compassionate society.
Nancy Cairns (she/her) is a dynamic single mother of three, a creative force, and a committed champion for diversity and inclusion. With over a decade of experience in municipal government and politics, she specializes in communications, staff wellness, and equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging (EDIB) strategies.
Based in Ottawa, Ontario—on the traditional unceded, unsurrendered territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin People—Nancy blends lived experience with policy insight and creative vision to help reshape how we tell stories and challenge injustice.
She is also the founder of NG Avant Creations, a storytelling platform that publishes women’s fiction exploring social inequities, systemic injustice, and the emotional lives of women in complex systems.
Through both ventures, Nancy brings heart, strategy, and an unwavering belief in community healing to every project she leads.
